Parakeet

Eliza's teacher pulled me aside this morning to tell me a story.  Dylan's dad is getting his PhD in Cherokee Literature.  Sometimes Mr. Bryan teaches the kids Cherokee words while he's co-oping.  Yesterday Ruby asked why Dylan's dad always calls him "chooch."  Eliza explained that chooch means son in Parakeet.  She may very well think Mr. Bryan is getting his PhD in learning how to talk like a parakeet.  Love it.
