Happy One Month!

Ezra turned one month old yesterday. He's also started smiling socially over the past few days. The first time I asked him if he remembered being upside down in my tummy for 2 months and he smiled at me. The second time S and Eliza were dancing around the living room to Adele and he was giving me this look like, "what kind of crazy family did I end up in?" then he smiled. He's smiled for S a few times too, usually when he sings to him. Hopefully we'll get a video or picture soon!

The Ezra side eye

Ezra's 2 week check up was yesterday. He already weighs 9 lbs 1 oz! When the doctor was examining him, Ezra peed all over both of us. Then when the nurse did the PKU, he peed on me again. This is why I carry an extra shirt in the diaper bag. :) On Sunday Ezra had his first bottle of pumped milk. Eliza and S were happy to feed him, and I was happy to have a glass of wine. He took the bottle with no problems. Tonight Ezra rolled over from tummy to back! I think Eliza was 3 or 4 months old when she rolled over, so I was surprised. He definitely can't sit still. We didn't get it on video, but all 3 of us were there to see it! It's hard to tell much about his personality at this point, but when he's awake, he often has a skeptical face, with a wrinkled forehead. And quite often when his sister is in his face, he gives her a "what the heck?" face. I call it the Ezra side eye. It's pretty funny. When he makes this face I think he looks like my brother, Zac. Actually, mom says I was up in Zac's face a lot when he was a newborn, so maybe it's not a coincidence.

While driving home from school...

Mom: "This is a song I liked in high school, it's by a band called the Cranberries"

Eliza: "Cranberries!? That's not a name for a band!"

Mom: "What's your band gonna be named?"

Eliza: "The Purple Mary's"
